Good morning, baby boy!

Glad that "you" are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Think maybe, just maybe, you’ll let your weary momma get some sleep tonight? Please!

Prayers for Dear, Sweet Chelsea...

My friend Carey shared some scary news about her sweet baby girl, Chelsea, recently. Please pray for her. Carey and her family are loved by many and my heart is very heavy as they face a very trying time. Thanks in advance for your prayers...

Damn Thyroid Anyway!

Just a little update regarding dear baby Isaac...two weeks old today in all of his glory! Today marks his 15th blood draw since we have had him at home on Sunday, September 9. Seems that he carries all of my antibodies for BOTH of my silly autoimmune thyroid conditions. Somehow, I knew that this would happen. Today, the pediatrician noted that “Gee Michelle, your antibodies must be REALLY high, as normally we don’t have to treat infants who are born carrying antibodies from their sick mothers.” WTH?! Sick mother indeed, I suppose. Yes, Isaac is being treated with meds for HYPERthyroidism and soon will be on meds for HYPOthyroidism. Yep, sick momma has both conditions and my poor boys got the privilege of getting sick momma’s junk…straight from sick momma’s placenta. Right now, Isaac is hyperthyroid, but we’ll soon go into a 6-9 month balancing act of meds, blood draws, different meds and more blood draws until his wee little body rids itself of sick momma’s garbage. I so feel for him as the physicians have yet to get a viable vein when they try to draw his blood. We end up warming his heels and poking then squeezing to fill all of the tubes needed for the panel and antibody screens! Lovely! Tuesday, we’ll visit the NICU to get a “more experienced” person to try to draw from his superficial veins. I keep telling dear Isaac that when he can talk he and his sweet 13-month old brother can compare “stories.” Stories of endless pokes and their sick momma who witnessed it all in tears. I so hope that they don’t remember, but when I look into their baby blues full of tears, I have to wonder if, without a doubt, they will. I know that I will never forget, but alas, we have to do what we have to do…and all because of their sick momma! Pray for my little man. So sweet he is!

Wordless Wednesday - Yumm-O!

Way behind in my blog posting, but did manage another WW pic. Must say, corn doggies are my favorite too...especially at 37 weeks pregnant. For more on Wordless Wednesday, click here.
