31 for 21 (#5) Milestones

Get It Down; 31 for 21
Before Elliot arrived, I was one of those moms who got very caught up in milestones. Nora walked a bit late at 15 months. Nora did not crawl; she instead rolled. Nora, unbeknownst to me, was a typical baby, just a wee bit behind on the gross motor scale. It petrified me. Now, she is as typical as any typical 6.5-year old. Perfect. And, as many characteristic kiddos her age, is loosing her teeth right and left. I had to add that as the featured photo is adorable!

Upon Elliot’s arrival, I forgot about milestones and became less and less occupied with the day-to-day “Will he?” or “Won’t he?” moments, instead celebrating each day as it came and every milestone as it was accomplished. The milestone scales are useless.

For I learned that when you are hopeful, you must rejoice and when you are hopeless, it is time to recalculate.

I am hopeful.

And, Elliot’s glass is forever half FULL!

I rather like not focusing on the milestones anymore - the moments are so sweet when they happen!
